The brass used for the head of the nut is soft enough to bite into placements, but hard enough to resist deforming and pulling through. Wires are soldered directly into the nut head, allowing a thicker wire to be used and increasing overall strength. The color coded swage gives easy size selection and allows the Brass Offset to self equalize when loaded, making the most of marginal placements.

Unlike the other dice in the DMM range, the heads of this model are made of brass. This material is soft enough to mash hard into the crack, yet remains resistant enough so that the user does not have to worry about deforming the bone.

By fusing the bone tendons into the head stock material, the manufacturer was able to increase the surface area of the side walls of the bone headstock, thereby increasing the contact area with the crack. This solution allows the load to be distributed more evenly, which is especially useful in loosely bound rock. It also made it possible to use thicker steel wire, increasing the strength of the entire bone.

The DMM brand was built by trad climbers - so they realized how annoying the situation can be when we are a few meters above the last passage and in the only crack in our reach the bone we left a few pins below sits perfectly. That's why there is a large, even tens of percent, range compatibility between the different sizes. Together with the aforementioned ergonomic shape, this makes climbing on your own much more pleasant.

DMM, in an effort to speed up finding the right size bone, decided to subject the bone tendons to an anodization process. In addition to the visual aspect, this process also affects durability. The surface of the aluminum used in the production gains anti-corrosion and mechanical protection, which will be especially appreciated, for example, when climbing on cliffs. What's more, the colors are compatible with DMM's mechanics, among others, and the manufacturer also offers hardware carabiners anodized in Brass colors - quickly setting the right size in difficulty has never been so easy.
